Honorees of the award are recognized for their commitment to employing, developing and retaining veterans through veteran specific resources, leadership programming and HR efforts.
ATLANTA –November 9, 2022, – Risk3sixty today announced U.S. Secretary of Labor Martin J. Walsh recognized the company as one of the 835 recipients of the 2022 HIRE Vets Medallion Award during a virtual award ceremony presented by the U.S. Department of Labor. Risk3sixty earned the platinum award from the Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act (HIRE Vets Act) Medallion Program, the only federal award program that recognizes employers who successfully recruit, hire and retain veterans.
“We are dedicated to employing, developing and retaining veterans not only because it’s the right thing to do, but because their invaluable skills and experience align directly with our core business values of Grit, Craftmanship, Steadfastness, Freedom and Team, ” said risk3sixty Director of Talent and Culture Jessica Lucas. “As a veteran myself, I understand it can be difficult to transition from the military to corporate America, so I am appreciative for risk3sixty going the extra mile to bestow opportunities and resources to veterans as they transition to civilian life.”
Recipients of the 2022 HIRE Vets Medallion Award meet rigorous employment and veteran integration assistance criteria, including veteran hiring and retention percentages; availability of veteran-specific resources; leadership programming for veterans; dedicated human resource efforts; pay compensation and tuition assistance programs for veterans.
“Many veterans transitioning from service struggle to make the leap to the civilian world and find it very stressful even though they are disciplined, tough, and have grit and leadership skills,” said risk3sixty President and Co-Founder Christian White. “The irony is that these veterans are often overqualified, but lack the resume, specific training or credentials to slide into a similar role outside the military. As a veteran myself, I know they just need an opportunity, so providing them with one brings me great joy.”
Risk3sixty joins companies from 49 states, plus the District of Columbia, who have shown a commitment to hiring veterans, but also ensuring that they have a long-term career and growth plan that uses the diverse skills they acquired through their military service.
“I feel that it is important to hire and develop veterans because they stepped up to answer our nation’s call and put everything on the line ‘to support and defend the Constitution’ and that is weighty,” concluded White. “It’s an honor to serve and an honor to employ our veterans.”
